The idea for the original version of this cookbook, Sharing Our Best: Favorite Recipes from the Glacier Bay Country Inn, began as we saw the need to both organize our overflowing collection of recipes and "put to paper" the numerous recipes developed over our years as the original owners and innkeepers of the Glacier Bay Country Inn.
After three editions of the book were published (and completely sold out), we sold the Inn and moved on to other interests. However, ten years later, we were still getting requests for the cookbook and its delicious recipes.
So, in 2004, we updated and published a new edition of the book, calling it From Halibut to Jalapeños. The first printing is gone and we recently received the second printing of this popular cookbook.
In addition to over 600 delightful recipes and recollections from our years as Alaskan homesteaders and innkeepers, the book also includes patterns and complete instructions for two colorful quilted placemats. Order yours today!
In the book we have gathered recipes that range from gourmet to everyday, recipes to delight the eye as well as the palate. All are best when prepared with the freshest seafood, fruits and vegetables straight from the garden, and with the little bit of extra care and attention which became the trademark of Al and Annie's Glacier Bay Country Inn.
